Who we are

Our Heritage Founded in 1946, the Native American Church of the United States (NACUS) was the first chapter established in the State of Texas. It was originally organized for the vital purpose of protecting members of the Native American Church as they traveled to and through Texas, ensuring they could practice their faith and carry the holy Peyote Sacrament without interference. Today, we continue to stand as a testament to that legacy of protection and religious endurance.

Our Spirit We are a simple, open-hearted church. We welcome all people with a spirit of kindness and respect, regardless of race, origin, or status. We congregate with deep reverence for the Peyote Ceremony, honoring the sacred traditions that define our faith.

Our Mission The mission of the NACUS is to protect our historical lineage and the integrity of our practice. We advance the holy cause of Native American religious worship in memory of the ancestors who sacrificed to secure our religious freedom. We uphold these traditions so that future generations may continue to know the blessings of the Sacrament.

Our Vision Supported by the guidance of Almighty God, we encourage the Church to grow through the teachings of Hope, Faith, Love, and Charity. We strive to foster brotherly and sisterly love among all people, unified in our devotion and our heritage.
